JOIN US

We are always looking for new members!

Although we are a non-auditioned choir, we aim to maintain high standards. If you are not sure to which voice section you belong, please talk to our Musical Director. You don't have to be able to sight-read, but a reasonable ability to read music would help and, of course, the ability to sing in tune.

You do not have to be a Highworth resident to become a member. You will be welcome to join us wherever you live, as long as you can commit to attending rehearsals. As a general rule, members who wish to sing in a particular concert should attend at least 70% of the rehearsals. The final rehearsal on the day is compulsory. Should either of these points prove to be impossible, the Musical Director has the final say on whether you can take part in the performance.

"Should you not want to sing at your first rehearsal, feel free to just come along, listen and have a chat."

The age range of our members is very wide and in recent years there has been a noticeable increase in numbers in the lower age groups which underlines the tremendous appeal of choral singing.

The dress code for the concerts will depend on the venue and repertoire, although we are unlikely to ask you to buy anything which you would be unable to wear on other social occasions.

If all of the above has not put you off, we look forward to welcoming you into a friendly group of like-minded people.

Should you not want to sing at your first rehearsal, feel free to just come along, listen and have a chat.

Once you have joined, you will be asked to pay an annual membership subscription of £120.

If you'd like to apply for membership then please download and complete our membership form.

Annual Membership Fee

Membership subscriptions run annually from September.

The rate for new (or re-joining) members after 1st January is 60% and after 1st April 30%, of the yearly fee.

Payments may be made in instalments but the total must be paid by the end of November.  You can discuss this option with the Treasurer.
